Congratulations to Richard L. Ehman, Professor of Radiology at the Mayo Clinic and CEO of Resoundant, Inc., on being elected Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI). NAI Fellows are chosen for their "highly prolific spirit of innovation in creating or facilitating outstanding inventions that have made a tangible impact on quality of life, economic development, and the welfare of society.” Election to NAI Fellow status is the highest professional distinction accorded solely to academic inventors. Nominees must be a named inventor on patent(s) issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and must be affiliated with a university, non-profit research institute or other academic entity. Dr. Ehman is listed as an inventor on over 70 U.S. patents, many around his invention of the novel imaging technology, Magnetic Resonance Elastography.
